They help create a positive learning environment to facilitate growth of academic, social and career/technical skills of students.
The instructional assistant is essential to maintaining the small teacher to student ratio that is essential in providing quality instruction.
Duties:
Working as a member of the Career Center instructional team.
Support and maintain Career Center policies and practices Taking the initiative in determining how best to complement the teacher's plans.
Assisting the teacher with the day to day instructional program.
Work with specific students under the direction/supervision of the teacher.
Attend 5 extra curricular events per school year.
Assist with the collection, storage, updating of documentation.
Provide social and behavioral support Perform other duties as assigned by the Career Center leadership team Provide classroom coverage as needed.
Transporting students to and from community work sites in Career Center vehicles.
Education Requirement:
High School Graduate Prefer some college coursework related education, social work, vocational rehabilitation or related field Other Requirements Valid Virginia driver's license
Experience:
Must have 1 year experience or the equivalent working with children and/or young adults Prefer experience working with students with disabilities in an educational or vocational setting.

Part-time Pay:
$13.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
