Position
Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic, detail oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing team at McClung-Logan.
The HR Coordinator will work alongside the Regional HR Business Partner, company employees, and other management personnel with responsibilities that include recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, employee training initiatives, and various other HR-related functions.
This position is preferably based in Richmond, VA.
1 /day per week working remotely.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation utilizing company's HRIS system.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
, and refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Performs periodic audits of HR documents and records to ensure that they are collected and filed appropriately.
May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and distributing checks.
Conducts and/or assists with employee recruitment and the new hire orientation program.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as industry career fairs, organization-wide meetings, employee appreciation events, benefits enrollment, holiday parties, etc.
Provides terminated employees with exit interview and all necessary paperwork upon end of employment.
Completes employment verifications and inquiries for current and former employees.
Processes HR-related invoices for approval.
Develops and maintains a company-wide employee training calendar and monitors the attendance records and completion rates for training initiatives.
Helps management team research new employee training techniques and recommends program enhancements to meet the company's objectives.
Markets training initiatives to employees and gathers feedback after each educational session.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Additional duties as assigned.
Education & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
2-3 years of human resources administration or related experience.
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
Experience with human resources information systems and applicant tracking systems (ADP strongly preferred).
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work cohesively with internal and external stakeholders.
Basic knowledge of HR policies and practices, employment law, recruitment and employment practices, and equal employment opportunity regulations.
Travel may be required up to 25%.
Individual Characteristics:
An action-oriented self-starter, able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Must be detail oriented and well organized.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
Strong relationship builder with good team management skills.
Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, talking, sitting, and use of hands.
This job mostly involves sitting or standing, but there may be occasional tasks that involve lifting or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient utilizing computers and software such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers, and mobile applications.
Understanding of advanced technical software applications.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
SHRM-CP credential preferred.
Must possess a clean MVR & valid driver's license.
