Purchasing Manager

American Infrastructure Virginia has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Manager working out of the Glen Allen office. The position will include, but is not limited to, the following Responsibilities:
Negotiate with vendors regarding purchase requirements, prices, deliveries, and submission of bids in a manner that best represents the interests of the company.
Ensure compliance with all DBE requirements as per contractual commitments.
Partner with Project Managers and Construction Managers in the pre-construction phase to maximize buyout opportunities
Plan, organize, and direct the work of buying supplies, materials, equipment and services.
Establish goals, objectives, and performance standards for Purchasing.
Analyze performance and workload data and develop & implement procedural changes, new methods, or automated systems as appropriate, in order to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness of purchasing
Determine purchasing needs, legal requirements, and product specifications, and to share information about cost availability, vendor qualifications, and current technology.
Review bids, contracts, and purchase orders. Work closely with Estimating department to maximize accuracy of projected costs.
Ensure maintenance of appropriate documentation and records.
Research market conditions and new products.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience of progressive responsibility in similar positions.
Experience performing contract administration for heavy civil construction projects.
Ability to operate successfully in a collaborative environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
